Beast Outplay K-Wings But Drop a 5-3 Decision

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO -The Brampton Beast gave a determined effort to extend their season-opening point streak to six games, but the Kalamazoo Wings ultimately prevailed by a score of 5-3 at the Powerade Centre on Friday night to hand the Beast their first regulation loss of the season.

David Pacan, Chris Leveille and David Vallorani scored for Brampton in a contest that at one point was tied at two, before the Wings exploded with three consecutive goals to put the game out of reach.

It was Brampton that started this on-ice showdown like a team possessed. The Beast recorded the first nine shots of the game, and they kept Kalamazoo off the shot clock until the 12:58 mark of the opening frame.

After withstanding this early barrage of scoring chances, the Wings responded with some pressure to draw a power play chance. Justin Taylor capitalized on this man advantage opportunity by deflecting the puck past Beast starter Zach Fucale at 17:59 of the first period.

The Beast knotted the score with 21 seconds remaining in the first period. David Pacan potted his third goal of the season by ripping a perfectly placed wrist shot from the left circle past the
