Gladiators Beat the Jackals, 3-0, in Goergia

DULUTH, GA - November 4, 2016 - Matt Ginn made 21 saves and the Atlanta Gladiators (5-3-1-1) shut out the Elmira Jackals (2-5-1-0), 3-0, Friday night at the Infinite Energy Center in Duluth, Georgia.
The Gladiators, who entered with a league-best +8 goal differential in the first period, jumped out to a 1-0 lead 6:15 into the game . After a takeaway in the neutral zone, the Gladiators transitioned into the offensive zone with a 2-on-1. Eric Neiley skated to the right circle then sent a cross-ice pass to Justin Buzzeo, who fired into an open net to give the Glads a 1-0 lead, which held as the only scoring in the first period.
Atlanta extended its lead in the second period, scoring twice more . First Neiley converted on a rebound near the crease immediately following a Glads faceoff win. He lifted a backhand shot under the crossbar to make it 2-0 at 8:03. Then at 16:07, the Gladiators struck with a power-play goal from their captain Derek Nesbitt. He rocketed a one-timer from the right circle off the crossbar and into the net to make it 3-0. The Jackals threatened multiple times in the closing minutes of the period, but they missed on two odd-man rushes, including on that was put off the post.
The Jackals finished with eight shots in the third period, but Ginn held Elmira off the board for a 3-0 victory, the third time in eight games the Jackals have been shut out. .
