Brampton Beast News Release
BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John's IceCaps and Montreal Canadiens, announce today that the team has acquired Reggie Traccitto from the Orlando Solar Bears.
Traccitto, 26, hails from Oakville, Ontario and is a well-rounded rearguard who spent parts of the last five seasons on Canada's east coast, suiting up for the powerhouse University of Price Edward Island squad.
In both 2013-14 and 2014-15, his strong two-way play earned him a spot on the CIS (AUS) First All-Star Team.
He spent his junior years in the Ontario Hockey League and split time between the London Knights and Niagara IceDogs. His best year in junior was the 2009-10 season, where he flexed his offensive muscles and scored 20 goals and added 18 assists to go with 95 penalty minutes. His 20 goals were the most in the OHL in 2009-10.
Traccitto is no stranger to the pro game as he has suited up in the ECHL for the Ontario Reign for eight games in 2010-11 and in the AHL for the Toronto Marlies for a pair of games in 2014-15.
Beast Head Coach Colin Chaulk has had his eye on Traccitto for quite some time and is excited to add his talents to the Beast roster.
"He is a player who has been on our radar for a while," Chaulk said. "He's a great two-way player who can help us score goals."
The Beast Home Opener is Tonight! Single game tickets for the Beast's Home Opener on Friday, October 23rd against the Adirondack Thunder are still available, starting at $16.25. Trial Packs for the 2015-16 season are also available starting at $39.99 that include three game tickets.
