Greenville Swamp Rabbits News Release

Greenville, S.C. - The Greenville Swamp Rabbits, proud ECHL affiliate of the New York Rangers and the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, today announced goaltender Allen York has been recalled from loan to AHL Syracuse. In a related move, the Swamp Rabbits have signed netminder Adam Morrison in time for tonight's home opener. Forward Paul Rodrigues has also been released.

York, 26, signed a one-year deal with Syracuse in September and was loaned to Greenville on Oct. 6. He made one appearance with the Swamp Rabbits, stopping 24 shots in last weekend's season opener at Orlando.

A native of Wetaskiwin, Alberta, York played 11 NHL games with the Columbus Blue Jackets during the 2011-12 season, going 3-2-0 with a 2.30 goals against average and a .919 save percentage. He made his NHL debut on October 25, 2011 against Detroit and earned his first victory on March 28, 2012 against the Red Wings.

York was selected in the sixth round (#158 overall) by Columbus in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Morrison, 24, spent each of the last three seasons in the Boston Bruins organization and enjoyed a sensational 2014-15 campaign with South Carolina. In 23 appearances, Morrison went 15-5-2 with a 1.88 goals-against average, .928 save percentage and a career-best four shutouts. His goals-against average led all ECHL netminders with at least 23 games played. In addition, the third-year pro was named ECHL Goaltender of the Month last February and finished the season on a seven-game winning streak, dating back to Feb. 7.

Overall, Morrison played 35 games with South Carolina over the last three seasons as well as 14 contests with Utah in 2012-13. The Surrey, British Columbia native has also played two games with AHL Providence.

Prior to turning pro, Morrison spent four seasons between the pipes in the Western Hockey League (WHL) with the Saskatoon Blades and Vancouver Giants. In 2011-12, he went 35-17-3 with a 2.80 goals-against average, .900 save percentage and one shutout in 56 contests with Saskatoon and Vancouver.

The 6'2, 170-pound goaltender was selected in the third round (#81 overall) by Philadelphia in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
