Mavericks Continue Rivalry Series with Thunder

INDEPENDENCE, MO (Oct. 23, 2015) - The Missouri Mavericks will once again compete against long-time rival, the Wichita Thunder (ECHL), in the Independence Cup Series, presented by Independence Tourism, during the 2015-16 ECHL regular-season.

This fifteen-game series will span the length of the regular season, with the first match-up being played tonight at the INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, KS at 7:05p.m. (CT), and ending again at Wichita's home rink on Sunday, March 20th. The Mavericks will play seven (7) games of the Independence Cup at Silverstein Eye Centers Arena, beginning tomorrow for their home-opener game on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7:05p.m. (CT).

The winner of the Independence Cup Series will be determined by the highest point total earned through the fifteen-game series. The winner of will be awarded with the Independence Cup and a donation to their club's youth hockey program.
