Goaltender Kenny Reiter with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers

BRAMPTON, ON - The Brampton Beast, ECHL affiliate of the St. John's IceCaps and the Montreal Canadiens, announce today that 2011 NCAA Division I champion goaltender Kenny Reiter has been signed to a Standard Player Contract.
Between 2011 and 2013, the six-foot, 174-pound goaltender was a mainstay in the American Hockey League, appearing in 38 career AHL games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers posting a orck-solid .912 save percentage.
The 29 year-old from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania played two seasons in the ECHL with the Reading Royals in the 2014-15 season and the Fort Wayne Komets in the 2012-13 season. In an impressive stint with the Komets, Reiter was awarded ECHL Goaltender of the Month in January 2013. He totaled a .916 save percentage and a 2.72 goals against average in 24 games.
Reiter also put up remarkable stats during his college career with the University of Minnesota-Duluth between 2009 and 2012. In 84 NCAA games played, Reiter registered nine shutouts, a goals against average of 2.34 and a .912 save percentage. The netminder backstopped his squad to an impressive run in 2011, culminating with an NCAA Championship in the Frozen Four held at the home of the Minnesota Wild, the Xcel Energy Center. Reuter made 22 saves in the Championship Final against Michigan in a hard-fought 3-2 overtime victory.
The Beast will now return home to host the Wheeling Nailers at the Powerade Centre on February 19 and 20. Single game tickets are now available, starting at $16.25.
