Hoffman Recalled by Iowa

MOLINE, Ill. - Goaltender Brody Hoffman has been recalled from the Quad City Mallards by the American Hockey League's Iowa Wild, the Mallards announced today.

Hoffman, who turned 25 today, has gone 11-12-1 with a 2.84 goals against average and a .908 save percentage in 26 games with the Mallards this season. The rookie has started five straight games and appeared in ten of the Mallards' last 12 games.

Hoffman last season went 13-6-2 while posting a superb 2.06 goals against average, a sterling .922 save percentage and one shutout in 22 games for the University of Vermont. The 6' 4", 195-pound Wilkie, Saskatchewan, native finished his Catamount career second in school history in goals against average (2.45) and save percentage (.914). Hoffman went 34-33-9 with three shutouts in 78 games over three collegiate seasons. As a sophomore he helped UVM to a berth in the 2014 NCAA tournament. Hoffman was also named to the Hockey East All-Academic Team in both 2012-13 and 2013-14.

Before arriving in Burlington, Hoffman played all or part of four seasons in the junior ranks for the Fort McMurray Oil Barons of the Alberta Junior Hockey League and the Nipawin Hawks and- briefly- Notre Dame Hounds- of the Saskatchewan Hockey League.

The Mallards next play at home tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. against the Cincinnati Cyclones. Tomorrow night also brings the return of $1 Dog/$1 Beer Night presented by 97X and MetroLINK College Night.
