Bears power past Bridgeport 5-3 at Giant Center

Dave Steckel recorded his second two-goal game in the last seven days as the BEARS rallied to down Bridgeport 5-3 at GIANT Center Wednesday night.

The Sound Tigers scored the first goal of the game when former BEARS left wing David Masse scored at the 4:34 mark of the first period. After Steckel tied the game with his sixth goal of the season, Bridgeport's Jeremy Colliton scored his sixth of the season to give the Tigers a 2-1 lead after one period.

In the second period, Sean Bergenheim gave Bridgeport a 3-1 lead when he scored at the 5:43 mark, but HERSHEY would score the final four goals of the game to seal the victory. Boyd Gordon scored an even-strength goal at 10:54 of the second period, Graham Mink tied the game with a five-on-three power play goal at 13:48, followed by the game-winner by Mike Green at 16:38. Steckel finished the scoring with a short-handed goal late in the game with Bridgeport trying to tie the game on the power play.

Frederic Cassivi won his ninth game of the season, making 25 saves. Steckel was named the game's number one star, Green number two, and Gordon number three star. The BEARS have won seven out of ten games at home this season.
