Stone reassigned from Wheeling

WILKES-BARRE, PA - The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned center Ryan Stone from the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, it was announced Wednesday.

Stone, 20, has appeared in 18 games with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton this season, ranking tied for seventh on the team with 14 points (5+9). He also has nine penalty minutes and a plus-7 rating.

The 6-2, 199 pound native of Calgary, Alberta finished second in the Western Hockey League with 99 points (33+66) in 70 games with the Brandon Wheat Kings last season. He followed that up by finishing second in the WHL postseason with 27 points (4+23) in 24 games.

The Pittsburgh Penguins' second round choice (32nd overall) in the 2003 Entry Draft was assigned to Wheeling on November 28.
