Cleveland Barons News Release

HOUSTON, TX - Patrick O'Sullivan scored three goals for Houston in a 7-2 win over the Barons on Wednesday night. The two teams will meet again on Sunday evening after Cleveland travels to San Antonio for back-to-back affairs on Thursday and Friday.

Houston, who lost just two regulation games on home ice this season, dominated the opening frame out-shooting the Barons 19-6. The Aeros' Patrick O'Sullivan scored his 8th goal of the year just 58-seconds into the game on a breakaway, with assists from Petr Taticek and Dustin Wood. Erik Westrum, the AHL's leading scorer, extended the Aeros lead to 2-0 at the 13:22 mark of the first stanza for his 11th of the year. Curtis Murphy and Roman Voloshenko assisted on the goal. Jamie Holden made his 10th appearance of the year for the Barons and made 17-saves through the first twenty minutes of play. Josh Harding looking to improve on his league leading 11 wins made all 6-saves in the period for Houston.

The Aeros didn't let up with two more goals in the second period to extend their lead to 4-0 after forty minutes of play. O'Sullivan scored his second of the game at the 3:20 mark when Houston took advantage of a Barons giveaway in their defensive zone. Joey Tetarenko received the lone assist on the goal. Josh Olson then converted on a Houston rush up ice for his 4th of the year on assists from Joel Ward and Erik Reitz at the 16:44 mark. Houston out-shot the Barons 11-9 in the second period.

The Barons got some life from Houston's undisciplined play with seven minutes of power play time, but it was still the Aeros who out-scored Cleveland in the third period winning 7-2. With a five minute major for high sticking called against the Aeros, Barons forward Josh Prudden tallied his fourth goal of the season to get the Barons within three. However, Houston answered eight minutes later on an unassisted goal from Kirby Law. Prudden would score again for the Barons, but as was the story for the night, Houston was quick to respond with two goals to finish the game. Law scored his second of the period and O'Sullivan completed the hat trick with only 20-seconds to go in the game.

Tomorrow night your Barons travel to San Antonio, the game will be broadcast live via the B2 Networks, starting at 8pm EST. The links to access Barons broadcasts are available at the team's official web site. Schedule and promotional information is also found online by Crashing the Net at www.clevelandbarons.net. The Barons return to home ice on Tuesday, December 6th when they host the Toronto Marlies at 7pm.
