Hershey Bears News Release

No HERSHEY team has ever won nine straight road games. That could change tonight if the BEARS can post a victory at Mass Mutual Center tonight in Springfield, Massachusetts. Bruce Boudreau's team enters play tonight with a 10-1-0-1 record, and a perfect 8-0-0-0 mark away from GIANT Center this season. The eight straight road wins mark only the third time in franchise history that HERSHEY has won eight consecutive games away from home.

The BEARS are putting the finishing touches tonight on a three-game road trip that began with back-to-back wins in Winnipeg last weekend. Following a seven goal outburst and a 7-3 win for Maxime Daigneault Saturday night at the MTS Centre, Frederic Cassivi is expected to make his 11th appearance of the season tonight in Springfield. Cassivi leads the AHL in wins as well as appearances.

HERSHEY enters action tonight one point back of first place Norfolk in the East Division with two games in hand. With the Admirals off tonight, the BEARS can gain at least a share of first place with a victory Wednesday. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, who is tied with HERSHEY entering the day with 21 points, plays an 11:00 a.m. game Wednesday morning in Bridgeport.

The Falcons are perched in sixth place in the AHL's Atlantic Division as play starts tonight. Springfield is 6-8-0-0, good for 12 points. Steve Stirling, former coach of the New York Islanders, is in his first year as bench boss of the Falcons. Longtime NHL goaltender Sean Burke is also with Springfield this season after being assigned by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Tonight's game is available via the BEARS Radio Network, which includes flagship station WQIC-FM (100.1) in Lebanon, WLPA-AM (1490) in Lancaster and WHYL-AM (960) in Carlisle. The game can also be seen online via HersheyBears.com through the B2 Networks tab on the homepage, and can be heard through Pennlive.com and WHYLRadio.com. John Walton, in his fifth season with the defending Calder Cup champions, calls the action from the Mass Mutual Center beginning with the pregame show at 6:45 p.m.

The Bears are back home at GIANT Center this Saturday night to face the Bridgeport Sound Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Tickets for the game are available at the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 508-BEAR.
