Peoria, IL (November 15, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that goaltender Chris Beckford-Tseu has been reassigned to the team by the NHL's St. Louis Blues from Peoria's ECHL affiliate, the Alaska Aces - 2006 ECHL Kelly Cup Champions.
Beckford-Tseu, 22, has posted a 3-0-0 record, including a 25-save shutout of Utah on November 10, with the Aces since his reassignment on October 25, leading the ECHL in goals against average (GAA - 0.97) and save percentage (.963; 79/82 shots). The 6-foot-2, 201-pound native of Toronto, Ontario, opened the 2006-07 Rivermen season with a 23-save performance in the team's 4-3 overtime home win over the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights; it was his only appearance. Last year, the third-year professional played in 16 games with the Rivermen, recording a 6-5-1 record, a 3.01 goals against average (GAA) and a .888 save percentage.

In addition, he was voted as the starting goaltender for the National Conference in the ECHL All-Star Game, but was unable to play in the game as he was on call up to the NHL's St. Louis Blues.
