Three Amerks return to Buffalo

(Rochester, NY)... Rochester Americans General Manager Jody Gage announced today that three players have been recalled by the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League. Forward Drew Stafford, defenseman Mike Card and goalie Adam Dennis are heading back to Buffalo after returning to Rochester on Tuesday.

Stafford and Dennis were both recalled on Friday, November 10th and Mike Card went up to the Sabres on Saturday, November 11th. Stafford was called on to fill in for injured Maxim Afinogenov. The native of Faribault, Minn., who picked up his first NHL assist on November 4th, netted his first NHL goal on Saturday in Buffalo's 5-4 overtime win over Philadelphia at the Wachovia Center. This season, Stafford has played in four NHL games and has one goal and one assist.

Card made his NHL debut with the Sabres on Saturday and saw 11 minutes of ice time. He played in two games with Buffalo this past week. He was recalled by Buffalo to fill in for injured defenseman Toni Lydman. Dennis served as the backup to Martin Biron for three games.

This weekend, Rochester will play its third and fourth games of a six-game homestand. The first contest is on Friday, November 17th against the Manitoba Moose at The Blue Cross Arena. The 7:35 p.m. game will be broadcast on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks. The contest will also air on Time Warner Cable Channel 98 on Friday, November 17th at midnight and on Saturday, November 18th at 3:00 p.m.

On November 18th, Rochester hosts the Springfield Falcons for the first time since the 2000-01 season. The first 2,500 fans that night will receive an Amerks folder courtesy of Wendy's. The 6:05 p.m. showdown will be broadcast on Hot Talk 1280 WHTK, whtk.com and B2 Networks.
