March 18, 2007 - American Hockey League (AHL)
Hershey Bears News Release
The Binghamton Senators invade GIANT Center Sunday as the BEARS seek the club's 41st win of the season. HERSHEY is 4-0 against the Senators in 2006-07 with four games remaining in the season series.
The BEARS enter play Sunday four points back of the first place Norfolk Admirals, and with a four point lead over third place Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Norfolk checks in with 96 points and has Sunday off, while the Penguins have 88 points and travel to Albany to face the River Rats at 5:00 p.m. HERSHEY, with 92 points, have three games in hand on Norfolk as play begins Sunday, and has played one more game than the Penguins.
Saturday night, Jakub Klepis scored two goals and assisted on a third as the BEARS downed their in-state rival Philadelphia 5-2. Maxime Daigneault won his 19th game of the season, turning aside 18 Phantom shots. Matt Hendricks scored a power play goal early in the first period to open the scoring, giving him three goals in his last two games. Binghamton enters Sunday's game after a 5-2 win Saturday over the Portland Pirates at Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena.
Sunday's game, HERSHEY'S 67th of the season, can be heard via the BEARS Radio Network. The game will be joined in progress on the team's flagship station, WQIC 100.1 FM, and will be carried in its entirety on WHYL-AM 960 and 1490-AM WLPA. John Walton and Pete Vandermeer have the call of the action beginning with the pregame show at 4:40 p.m. Tickets are still available for the game through the GIANT Center box office, or by calling (717) 534-3911. Please note that Wednesday's home game with Springfield is already sold out. Tickets are available, however, for next weekend's home games with Philadelphia and Binghamton.
