Hershey Bears News Release

The BEARS wasted almost no time in getting onto the scoreboard Sunday, as Dave Steckel potted his 27th goal of the season just 24 seconds into the game. Deryk Engelland then ran the score to 2-0 before the close of the first period when he fired a shot from the blue line that eluded Binghamton goaltender Jeff Glass. HERSHEY outshot Binghamton 15-12 in the period in building up a two-goal advantage.

Binghamton would score the lone goal of the second period when Matt Koalska scored his eighth of the season at the seven-minute mark. HERSHEY would pick up eight more shots in the second, compared to seven for Binghamton. Into the third period, the BEARS struck for four goals, mostly from a natural hat trick from Kyle Wilson. Wilson reached the 20-goal plateau with goals at 11:50 and 14:10 of the third before he added his 21st of the year at 18:43. Matt Hendricks also scored a third period goal to put the game on ice for HERSHEY. Cassivi made 22 saves for his first win in a HERSHEY uniform since February 10.
