TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. - The Traverse City Beach Bums rallied past the Windy City ThunderBolts 3-1 in a quick contest on Saturday night at Wuerfel Park.

The ThunderBolts shook up their starting lineup and grabbed a 1-0 lead in the first inning against Beach Bums starter Jason Kiley. Guillermo Martinez singled with one out, stole second, moved to third on a groundout, and came in to score when J.T. Restko singled.

The lead held until the third inning. Andrew Barbaro led off the inning with a single through the right side for the Beach Bums. Brad Miller followed with a ground rule double that one hopped over the wall in left off Windy City starter Dustin Pease. Andrew Stafford knotted the score with a sacrifice fly to left and with two outs John Alonso singled up the middle to score Miller and put the Beach Bums ahead.

Traverse City added an insurance run in the fourth. Mike Victor and Brian Lapin singled to start the frame. Victor was thrown out at the plate attempting to score on a fielder's choice. With the bases loaded following another single by Andrew Barbaro, the Beach Bums got a sacrifice fly from Brad Miller to account for the final margin.

Jason Kiley earned the win, throwing six innings to improve to 4-6. He walked four, struck out one and allowed just four hits in his time on the hill. Shawn Joy and Jared Locke threw scoreless frames while Jeff Williams worked a 1-2-3 ninth to record his 12th save, currently tied for the most in the league. Pease threw seven innings for the ThunderBolts but was hit with the loss after striking out six. He retired the final 11 batters that he faced.

Andrew Barbaro and Mike Victor had two hits each for the Beach Bums, who finished with seven hits in the contest.

The Beach Bums will conclude the series with Windy City tomorrow night in a 5:05pm Family Night contest. RHP Kevin Reese (4-3, 5.06) will try and pitch the Beach Bums to the sweep while Windy City counters with All-Star and 2008 Frontier League Championship Series MVP Ross Stout (6-1, 2.21).
