The Bowie Baysox announce a series of roster moves:
OF Dave Krynzel transferred to AAA Norfolk
OF Ambiorix Concepcion transferred to AAA Norfolk
INF Miguel Abreu transferred to Temporarily Inactive List
INF Paco Figueroa transferred to Temporarily Inactive List
OF Daniel Figueroa transferred to Temporarily Inactive List
IF Brandon Waring transferred to AA Bowie from A+ Frederick
IF Pedro Florimon transferred to AA Bowie from A+ Frederick
OF Matt Angle transferred to AA Bowie from A+ Frederick
RHP Brian Parker transferred to AA Bowie from A+ Frederick
Krynzel was second on the team with 15 stolen bases and was hitting .249 on the season. This is the sixth consecutive season that he will see time at the AAA level.
Concepcion was hitting .251 and lead the team with 54 RBI. He was also second with eight homeruns. This is his first trip to the AAA level.
Abreu and the Figueroas will leave the team to play in the 2009 International Baseball Federation World Baseball Cup. The Figueroas will play for Spain in the tournament while Abreu will p[lay for Puerto Rico.
Waring's promotion caps off an outstanding season for the infielder. Acquired from the Cincinatti Reds with two other players for Ramon Hernandez in the off-season, Waring hit .276 while leading the Frederick Keys in home runs (26) and RBI (90).
Angle stole a career-high 40 bases in 123 games with the Keys this season. He also hit .289 and scored 78 runs.
Florimon hit .268 with nine home runs and 68 RBI in 115 games with the Keys. The switch-hitter batted .270 against lefties and .266 against right-handers.
Parker appeared in 35 games out the Keys bullpen, going 4-3 with a 4.31 ERA. He walked 26 while striking out 24.
With the moves, the Baysox currently have 23 active players.
