After Sunday's game was suspended following scoreless first innings from Anthony DeSclafani and A.J. Schugel, the Suns resumed play on Monday morning in the top of the second inning with a 0-0 score.

R.J. Hively (W, 1-2) earned the win for the BayBears in game one after working a perfect 1-2-3 seventh inning, striking out two batters in the frame.

Jake Barrett (SV, 4) was credited with his fourth save of the year after shutting down the Suns with a scoreless ninth inning.

Andrew Heaney (L, 3-2) was dealt a tough-luck loss for the Suns, coming on to pitch seven innings, while allowing two runs on six hits and striking out seven BayBears. Collin Cargill allowed one run on two hits in the ninth inning.

The game remained scoreless until Austin Nola drove in Alex Burg with a RBI single in the bottom of the sixth inning, giving the Suns a 1-0 lead.

Jacksonville maintained their one-run advantage until Mobile scored twice in the top of the eighth, plating one run on a wild pitch and scoring another on a sacrifice fly off the bat of Gerson Montilla. The BayBears plated an insurance run in the top of the ninth after Sean Jamieson scored Jake Lamb on a sacrifice fly to take a 3-1 lead.

Following a 3-1 win in Monday's first game, the BayBears fell behind 2-0 after three innings, but rallied to score nine unanswered runs at one point, winning 9-6 over the Suns in a seven-inning contest to complete Monday's action from Bragan Field.

Justin Fitzgerald (W, 2-0) earned the win in his first start of the year for Mobile after allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits in five innings of work.

Kaleb Fleck (SV, 1) earned his first save of 2014 after striking out two batters in a hitless ninth inning.

James Nygren (L, 0-1) took the loss after allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits in 3.1 innings of work while walking a batter and striking out one BayBear.

Greg Nappo allowed four runs (all earned) on three hits in 0.2 innings of action, with Tyler Higgins allowing an unearned run on three hits over his three innings.

The Suns struck first with a pair of runs in the third inning, receiving a RBI single from Brady Shoemaker and a sacrifice fly from Ryan Fisher in the frame to take a 2-0 lead after three innings of play.

However, the lead would be short-lived for the Suns, as the BayBears struck back for eight runs in the top of the fourth inning, receiving a RBI single from Jake Lamb, two-run doubles from Tom Belza and Justin Fitzgerald and a bases-clearing double off the bat of Gerson Montilla in the inning. The BayBears added another run in the top of the fifth.

J.T. Realmuto (HR, 4) drilled a two-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to bring the score to 9-4 in favor of the BayBears.

Danny Black (HR, 1) hit his first home run of the year in the bottom of the sixth inning, with his two-run shot finishing off the Suns' scoring in the seven-inning ballgame.

The Suns and BayBears will be back at it Tuesday night from Bragan Field four game four of this five-game set. The Suns trot out the right-hander Angel Sanchez (0-5, 5.86) while the BayBears are set to start the left-hander Andrew Chafin (2-1, 2.14) for Tuesday's game four.
