Greene Released, Bowman Joins BayBears

MOBILE, AL -- The Mobile BayBears and Arizona Diamondbacks have announced that on Monday, May 12, Justin Greene has been released. Outfielder Daniel Bowman has been transferred from Extended Spring Training to AA Mobile.
Greene, who won the 2013 Southern League Batting Title with .308 average, began 2014 batting just .174 (16 hits in 92 AB), with 0 HR and 7 RBI.
Bowman joins the BayBears from Extended Spring Training. In 2013, with Lake Erie of the Independent League, the Harrisonburg, VA native batted .309 with 9 HR and 53 RBI in 93 games.
Over the weekend, the Diamondbacks signed free Dustin Martin to a 1-year Minor League Free Agent deal. Martin joined the AA Mobile BayBears May 10, after starting 2014 in the Independent League. As a member of the BayBears in 2013, Martin batted .295 with 8 HR and 29 RBI.
