PEARL, MS -- The Mississippi Braves pitching staff struck out 10 as Mycal Jones drove in Barrett Kleinknecht to plate the M-Braves only run of the night, shutting out the Montgomery Biscuits 1-0 Monday night at Trustmark Park. The series continues with game four Tuesday at 7:00 PM.

Mississippi (19-18) scored one run on 10 hits while Montgomery (20-17) managed just five hits against Double-A Braves arms. Jones, Kleinknecht and Kyle Kubitza all collected two hits at the plate. David Bromberg (2-2) held the Biscuits to just four hits and a walk in six innings of work. He struck out six batters to pick up the win.

Kleinknecht led off the bottom of the third with a ground-rule double to left field. He moved to third on Dan Carroll's sacrifice bunt before coming in to score when Jones reached on a fielder's choice, plating the game's only run.

James Hoyt tossed two scoreless innings of relief for the Braves, striking out three. Shae Simmons (S, 9) came on in the ninth to notch his Southern League-leading ninth save of the season.

Dylan Floro (2-4) tossed seven frames for Montgomery but suffered the loss. He gave up one earned run on nine hits and a walk while fanning five batters.

Braves right-hander Jason Hursh (2-2, 3.41) toes the rubber in game four of this five-game series. He'll counter Biscuits righty Roberto Gomez (0-0, 0.00). First pitch is slated for 7:00 PM. Gates open at 6:00 PM.
