LAKEWOOD, NJ - Stephen Batts singled in the tying run, and scored the go-ahead tally in the eighth on a wild pitch as the BlueClaws beat Delmarva 4-3 Friday night.

Lakewood (11-4) entered the eighth trailing 3-2, after a Ty Kelly solo shot put Delmarva (7-8) ahead in the top half of the inning. Jonathan Singleton drew a leadoff walk against Delmarva reliever Tom Phelps (2-1) to put the tying run on.

After a Leandro Castro strikeout and a Sebastian Valle groundout that advanced the runner, Batts delivered a base knock up the middle to score Singleton and tie the game.

Batts then stole second, and advanced to third after catcher Luis Bernardo airmailed the throw into center. Facing Adam Buschini, Phelps uncorked a wild pitch that Bernardo couldn't track down in time, as Batts touched home to put Lakewood up 4-3.

Jordan Ellis pitched a 1-2-3 ninth for his 11th save of the season.

Brody Colvin struck out five in five innings, and let up two unearned runs. Ebelin Lugo (3-1) gave up Kelly's solo shot, but picked up the win.

Saturday at 7:05 pm RHP Colby Shreve (5-4, 3.46) takes on Shorebirds RHP Bobby Bundy (2-4, 4.18).
