KANSAS CITY, Kan.- Justin Bass went two for four with a home run and a triple as the T-Bones closed out their home regular season with a 4-1 win over Fargo-Moorhead on Sunday afternoon at CommunityAmerica Ballpark.

In the bottom of the third, Bass launched a two-run home run to right field on the first pitch he saw from Alex Caldera, giving him 50 RBIs on the season and giving the T-Bones a 2-0 lead.

"I was going up there with the idea of being aggressive, and I had a feeling he was going to come with a first-pitch fast ball," Bass said. "I put a good swing on it and it went."

Then, with Kansas City leading 3-1, Bass led off the bottom of the eighth inning with a triple to the gap in left center. Ray Sadler singled with two outs, scoring Bass and giving the T-Bones their final 4-1 margin.

"I think Bass is one of the toughest outs in the league, and both hits were big for different reasons," said manager Kenny Hook. "Besides giving us the early lead, the home run gave (starting pitcher Lucas Irvine) a couple of runs to work with. Then, the triple gave us an important insurance run late in the game."

Irvine, who improved to 3-2 on the season, struck out six in six scoreless innings.

Kansas City (47-46) has Monday off before starting a seven-game road trip on Tuesday, beginning at Amarillo.
