
Basabe reinstated from injured list, transferred to Class-A Kannapolis

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - In conjunction with the Chicago White Sox, outfielder Luis Alexander Basabe has been reinstated from the injured list and transferred to Class-A Kannapolis, team officials announced Monday afternoon.
Basabe, who has not appeared in a game for Birmingham during the 2019 season, is ranked as the No. 7 prospect in the White Sox system according to MLB Pipeline.
The Venezuelan product, whom the White Sox acquired from the Boston Red Sox as part of the exchange for Chris Sale on Dec. 6, 2016, split the 2018 season between Class-A Advanced Winston-Salem and Double-A Birmingham. He posted a collective .258 clip at the plate with 15 home runs and 56 RBI.
The Barons' active roster remains at 25 players with three on the injured list.
