Flashback
12/27/05 San Antonio 0, Cleveland 3 - Nolan Schaefer made 28 saves to lead the Barons to their second shut-out of the season. Special teams made the difference as the Barons skated to a 2-0 lead after scoring two power play goals in the first stanza. Josh Hennessy opened scoring for the Barons and then Steve Bernier followed with a power play goal. Garrett Stafford assisted on both goals and Bernier added an assist on Hennessy's goal for a multi-point period. Neither team scored in the second period and Schaefer handled all seven San Antonio shots in the third. Bernier scored into the empty net to bring the final score to 3-0.
12/29/05 San Antonio 0, Cleveland 2 - Nolan Schaefer's record setting performance brought the Barons to a 2-0 win over San Antonio. Schaefer finished the night with 35-saves and back to back shutouts of the Rampage. The Barons drew first blood as they scored the first goal of the game on the power play. Garrett Stafford powered home his sixth of the year on assists by Steve Bernier and Schaefer. Bernier added an assist in the second period on a goal by Mike Iggulden. A scoreless third period would ensure the Barons victory.
1/2/06 Cleveland 1, Toronto 6 - Luke Fulgham scored the first three goals of his career as the Marlies defeated the Barons in the Air Canada Centre Monday afternoon. Jay Harrison opened up scoring for the Marlies, who went one-for-one on the power play in the opening period. The Marlies scored three third period goals, including two from Fulgham, to lead 4-1 after forty minutes of action. Ray DiLauro scored the goal for the Barons, assisted by Steve Bernier and Patrick Rissmiller. Toronto finished up scoring in the third as Fulgham completed the hat trick and Bates Battaglia found the net for a final score of 6-1.

1/6/06 Cleveland vs. Milwaukee - National City Rink at The Q
**First 3,000 fans receive a Barons Team Trading Card Set
Cleveland and Milwaukee have each recorded a victory in the two times these teams have played this season. This game will be the third of eight meetings between the two teams. Cleveland is 4-6-5-1 all time against the Admirals and Patrick Rissmiller has 10 points (1-9-10) in 11 lifetime appearances and 4 points (1-3-4) in 2 appearances this season against Milwaukee. Admiral Kevin Klein has three points (1-2-3) in two games this season against the Barons.
1/7/06 Cleveland vs. Peoria - National City Rink at The Q
**Boy Scouts Day
Cleveland gets their first look at the Peoria Rivermen this season in the first of four games between the teams. Peoria is currently 16-14-1-1 and led in scoring by Mike Glumac, who currently has 39 points (18-21-39) in 32 games this season. The game begins at 1:05pm.
1/8/06 Cleveland vs. Manitoba - National City Rink at The Q
**First 3,000 fans receive an authentically autographed Dimitri Patzold Card
Manitoba makes the season's last trip to Cleveland on January 8th in the fifth of eight meetings between the teams. They will finish the series in Manitoba in April. Cleveland is 1-4-0-0 against the Moose this season and 6-14-1-0 lifetime. Manitoba's Jesse Schultz has recorded 6 points (4-2-6) in five games against the Moose and goaltender Wade Flaherty owns a 5-0-0 record against the Barons in his Manitoba career.
Barons Player of the Week
The Cleveland Barons Player of the Week for the second week is goaltender Nolan Schaefer. Schaefer posted shut-outs in both of the Barons games this week, stopping 28 shots on Tuesday and 35 on Thursday. The victories marked the first time a Barons goaltender/team has recorded back to back shutouts.
Power-ed Up
The Barons went three-for-ten on the power play last week in two games against San Antonio. On the season, the Barons have converted 37 power play goals in 256 opportunities, a 14.5% success rate.
Don't Get Bernier-ed
Barons right wing Steve Bernier has collected points in each of his past five games (3-5-8). The rookie started the season with a seven-game point streak, setting the franchise mark for consecutive point streak to begin a season and rookie point streak to begin a career. Bernier is currently third on the Barons in scoring with 26 points (12-14-26). He is tied for team lead in goals (12) and power play goals (5).
Staff Report
Defenseman Garrett Stafford has 4 points (2-2-4) in his past five games. The 6-foot, 195-pound native of Los Angeles, CA currently leads Barons defenseman with 6 goals. He is second in scoring among Barons defenseman with 18 points (6-12-18).
Getting Iggy With It
Right Wing Mike Iggulden has recorded points (1-1-2) in two of his past three games. The St. Catharine's, Ontario native is tied for tops on the team in scoring with 27 points (12-15-27).
Breakaway With the Barons
The Barons will host this season's second National City Breakaway with the Barons on January 4th at Thornton Park in Shaker Heights. Each breakaway consists of a one-hour Barons practice, followed by a post-practice skate with the entire 2005-06 Barons roster. This is the perfect opportunity for fans to get pictures with or autographs from their favorite Barons. Thornton Park is located at 20701 Farnsleigh Rd.
