
Barons sign defenseman DiLauro

CLEVELAND - Cleveland Barons General Manager Wayne Thomas announced today that the club has signed defenseman Ray DiLauro to an American Hockey League standard players contract.
DiLauro spent last season with the Wheeling Nailers (ECHL) and finished second on the team in scoring (12-40-52). He was second among ECHL defensemen in points and led ECHL defensemen with 24 power play assists and four short-handed assists. He earned the ECHL Defenseman of the Year award and was named First-Team All-ECHL. He also established career highs for games played (72), goals (12), assists (40), points (52) and penalty minutes (82).
The Barons will open their 2005-06 Regular Season schedule on the National City Rink located in The Q on Saturday, October 8th against the Rochester Americans at 7:05pm.
