Oklahoma City Barons News Release

MILWAUKEE - Brad Hunt scored two goals for the Oklahoma City Barons who won their single-season franchise record eighth consecutive game by knocking off the Milwaukee Admirals 5-3 Saturday night at BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The win also extended the Barons' current unbeaten streak to 10 games (9-0-0-1) with Oklahoma City holding a four-point lead (32-28) over second-place San Antonio in the West Division of the AHL's Western Conference.

Hunt started the scoring for Oklahoma City at the 5:49 mark of the first period when he received a pass from Joshua Winquist and blasted a shot from the point that sailed past Milwaukee goalie Marek Mazanec, giving the Barons an early 1-0 lead. Winquist's assist was his first career AHL point.

Milwaukee tied the game at one goal apiece later in first. At 11:01 of the frame, Miikka Salomaki sent a cross-ice pass to a streaking Colton Sissons who chipped the puck past Barons goalie Laurent Brossoit from just beyond the Oklahoma City crease for a 1-1 tie.

In the second period, the Barons regained the lead on the power play when Brad Hunt threw a pass from the right circle to the left, where Anton Lander flipped a shot past Mazanec. The goal at 15:44 of the second period came with the Admirals' Austin Watson serving a penalty for slashing at 15:19. The Barons' Jason Williams was credited with an assist on the play, extending his personal point streak to nine games.

Just over two minutes later, Hunt netted his second goal of the game when he grabbed an Andrew Miller pass in the right circle and skated in alone toward Mazanec before flicking a wrist shot past the Milwaukee goalie to give the Barons a 3-1 lead. Hunt's goal also came on the power play, with the Admirals' Salomaki having been assessed a hooking penalty at 17:07.

Quickly into the third period, the Barons extended their lead to 4-1 when Matt Ford fired a pass from the Milwaukee blue line to Ryan Hamilton who sent a shot from the left circle that flew over the glove of Mazanec. After Hamilton's goal at 1:03 of the third, Mazanec was replaced in net by backup goalie Magnus Hellberg.

Milwaukee began staging a comeback shortly after the Barons increased their lead to three goals. Frederick Gaudreau scored two rebound goals less than three minutes apart (2:18 and 4:52) to make it a 4-3 game, with Milwaukee holding a 15-4 edge in shots during the third period.

Williams scored an empty net goal with nine seconds left in the third to give the Barons their 5-3 victory.

The Barons next travel to Cedar Park, TX where they will take on the Texas Stars Wednesday, Dec. 10 in a 7:30 p.m. start at Cedar Park Center.
