Worcester outshot St. John's 20-11 in the first period.

Salem, MA native Will O'Neill (6th) scored the only goal of the second period with a power play strike at 5:31 with a wrist shot from 50 feet through the pads of Aaron Dell to give St. John's a 3-2 advantage after 40 minutes. JC Lipon and Gus Young (1st FM) had a terrific fight at 7:59 of the period as tempers started to flare. Worcester outshot St. John's 13-9 in the middle frame.

Worcester outshot St. John's 10-2 in the third period but neither team would find the back of the net as the IceCaps held on for the 3-2 victory.
