DAVENPORT, IA - In the span of two pitches in the sixth inning, the Quad Cities River Bandits (33-26) turned a 3-0 deficit into a 4-3 lead over the Lansing Lugnuts (32-25), holding on for a second straight victory at home on Wednesday evening at Modern Woodmen Park.

Lugs starter Sean Nolin held the Bandits to only one hit over the first five innings, but departed with two outs and runners at first and second in the bottom of the sixth. Sam Strickland (Loss, 3-1) entered and induced a grounder toward third, but Balbino Fuenmayor's throw to second in an attempt for an inning-ending force out was ruled late.

Quad Cities immediately took advantage: Cleanup hitter Cody Stanley delivered a bases-clearing, game-tying, three-run double to center, and Victor Sanchez lined the very next pitch up the middle to score Stanley with the go-ahead run.

The Bandits only had four total hits in the game, a night after defeating the Lugnuts in the series opener with only five hits.

Dean Kiekhefer (Win, 1-0) pitched three scoreless innings in relief of starter Seth Blair to earn the victory.

Aidan Lucas picked up his third save with a scoreless ninth, coaxing a game-ending double play from pinch-hitter Lance Durham.

Lugs second baseman Matt Nuzzo went 2-for-4 with his first home run, left fielder Marcus Knecht went 1-for-2 with two walks, and DH Markus Brisker went 1-for-3 with a HBP, two stolen bases and two runs scored in the losing cause.

Lansing looks to avoid the three-game road sweep on Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. EDT, sending right-hander Drew Hutchison (3-2, 3.50) to the hill against Bandits right-hander Trevor Rosenthal (3-5, 3.80).

The Lugnuts return home to Cooley Law School Stadium on Tuesday, June 14th, for a three-game series against South Bend. Tickets are available for purchase online at www.lansinglugnuts.com, at the stadium box office, and by calling 517-485-4500.
