FORT WAYNE, Ind. - It was a night for the hitters as the TinCaps lost the series finale against the Quad Cities River Bandits, 11-10, Monday at Parkview Field. Rico Noel doubled twice and knocked in three runs.

Despite the loss, the TinCaps still won their fifth straight series. Quad Cities led, 8-1 going to the bottom of the fifth, but Fort Wayne rallied, scoring a pair of runs in the fifth thanks to RBI doubles by Noel and Rymer Liriano, making it 8-3.

In the sixth, four straight TinCaps reached to open the inning including a bases-loaded walk by B.J. Guinn. Two batters later, Noel lofted a two-run double to left and Cory Spangenberg followed with an RBI groundout to cut the deficit to 8-7.

The Bandits scored a run in the seventh and two more in the eighth; Victor Sanchez's two-run double was the key blow in the eighth to make it 11-7.

Fort Wayne rallied again in the eighth. Spangenberg drew a bases-loaded walk and Liriano lifted a sacrifice fly to center to shave the margin to 11-9.

In the ninth, Connor Powers led off with a roller through the middle and Wes Cunningham worked a pinch-hit walk. Emmanuel Quiles bunted the runners up, then Guinn drove in Powers with a groundout to make it 11-10. With the tying run at third base, Quad Cities RHP Aidan Lucas induced a game-ending groundout.

The TinCaps dropped to 16-14 in the half, 46-53 for the season. Quad Cities improved to 17-13 since the all-star break, 57-42 on the year.
