Harrisburg Senators News Release

The Harrisburg Senators are partnering with the American Cancer Society (ACS) for a special fundraiser at Commerce Bank Park. Bald is Beautiful Day will take place on Sunday May 27, 2007. The Senators are raising money for the ACS Hope Lodge in Hershey, a place where cancer patients and their families can stay free of charge while patients are receiving treatment at Hershey Medical Center.

The Hope Lodge was chosen as the recipient for this fundraiser because for Tim Foreman, a long-time employee of the Harrisburg Senators. Tim's mother recently stayed at the Hope Lodge while her husband received cancer treatment at Hershey Medical Center.

Bald is Beautiful Day will consist of players and employees offering to shave their heads if their fundraising goal is met. Donations are being raised up until the shave-off takes place before the game on May 27. Two players, Zechry Zinicola and Jeremy Plexico, have agreed to shave their heads for the cause. Along with these players, the following staff members volunteered: Tony Duffy, Robby Kotlinski, and David Bell.

Donations can be mailed to the Harrisburg Senators, P.O. Box 15757, Harrisburg, PA 17105. Checks should be made payable to: American Cancer Society. The Senators will be working hard to raise money at all home games leading up to the event. Special incentives to donate will be provided on a few nights to encourage fans to support the cause.
