The San Diego Padres and Fort Wayne Wizards announced on Saturday that Infielder/Outfielder Casey Baker has been placed on the disabled list effective immediately.
Infielder Justin Smyres has been assigned to the Wizards from the Padres extended spring training camp in Peoria, AZ. Smyres was an 11th round draft pick by the Padres in the 2003 draft. He played in Eugene last season and batted .280 with 0 home runs and 14 RBI's. Smyres is 23 years old and played his college baseball for Cal-State Fullerton.
