Baier Recalled to Hershey

North Charleston, SC - The South Carolina Stingrays and Head Coach/Director of Hockey Operations Spencer Carbery announced today that defenseman Paul Baier has been called up to the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League.

Baier, 26, skated in four games with the Stingrays this season recording one assist and nine penalty minutes. Last season, the Summit, New Jersey, native competed in 65 games with the Rochester Americans of the American Hockey League (AHL) registering two goals and eight assists for 10 points. Prior to the Americans, Baier spent the previous two campaigns in the AHL with the Portland Pirates and the Binghamton Senators grabbing 21 points (5g, 16a) in 124 games. Before launching his professional career, the third-round selection by the Los Angeles Kings in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft attended Brown University for four seasons totaling 28 points (5g, 23a) in 125 games.

The Stingrays' five-game road trip moves to Reading, Pennsylvania on Thursday, October 27 to square up against the Royals at 7:05 p.m. at the Sovereign Center.
