Stockton Thunder News Release
STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Thunder, a two time recipient of the ECHL "Award of Excellence," is scheduled to host a special "Safe Trick or Treating" event on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Stockton Arena, when the Thunder battles the Idaho Steelheads at 7:30 p.m.
While the Thunder faces its Western Conference rival during a unique night to celebrate Halloween festivities, opportunities for kids to pick up candy at several "trick or treat" stations will be present around Stockton Arena - an ideal atmosphere for families, youth groups and schools who visit the game.
Whether it's a taste for the superhero inspired, sporty, silly or creepy dress-up gear, all fans are encouraged to arrive in costume. The first 60 kids in attendance (ages 12 and under), dressed as their favorite character, will receive an opportunity to step onto the ice of Stockton Arena for a special costume contest during the first intermission. The grand prize winner, as selected by the fans, will receive a special Thunder prize pack.
Stockton Arena will pump out Halloween-themed music to add to the atmosphere during the game.
Trick or treat stations around Stockton Arena will be open to the first 500 kids who visit during the third period.
Saturday's matchup starts a three game homestand at Stockton Arena. The Thunder will face the Steelheads for the first time this season and went 7-1-3 against Idaho last season.
The Thunder, who has averaged over 6,000 fans per game in attendance in each of the last six seasons, has frozen most Season Ticket prices for the 2011-12 season, which are on sale now and can be purchased by calling (209) 373-1500 or by visiting www.stocktonthunder.com. Thunder Season Ticket Holders enjoy the highest demanded seating locations in Stockton Arena, benefits including admission to Season Ticket Holder-only events, discount opportunities on Thunder merchandise, a free e-newsletter, an exclusive gift, admission to the first two rounds of the Kelly Cup Playoffs and more.
