Badalamenti's Goals Lift Port Huron to 3-0 Victory

The Port Huron Fighting Falcons relied on the scoring touch of Zach Badalamenti, who netted two goals, to beat the Soo Eagles, 3-0.

Badalamenti found the back of the net 5:38 into the first period to make the score 1-0 Port Huron and again while 14:42 into the second to make the score 3-1 Port Huron.

Port Huron managed to stay out of the box better than usual, racking up one minor for two minutes in penalty time. The Fighting Falcons finished below its season average of 16.0 penalty minutes per game. Port Huron featured an improved defense during the game. The Fighting Falcons allow 2.3 goals per game. By firing 41 shots on goal, Port Huron exceeded the 24.0 shots it averages per game this year.

Mitch Maloney also scored for Port Huron. More assists for Port Huron came via Logan Lambdin, who had two and Alex Archibald, Matt Jones, Vito Aluia, and Reed Scahill, who each chipped in one.

Soo could not produce up to it normal offensive output. The Eagles average 2.1 goals per game.

Soo was led by AJ Jarosz, who took four shots.

The Fighting Falcons' Alex Blankenburg stopped 21 shots out of the 21 that he faced. Port Huron registered one goal on three power play opportunities. Skoog Paige made 38 saves for the Eagles on 41 shots. Soo incurred six minutes in penalty time with three minors.
