B-Sens Sign Defenseman Neil Petruic

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that they have signed defenseman Neil Petruic to a professional try-out contract.

Petruic, 27, appeared in 13 games with the Manitoba Moose this season recording one goal and one assist. He most recently saw action with the Victoria Salmon Kings of the ECHL where he recorded one assist in three games played.

This will be Petruic's second stint with the B-Sens. The defenseman spent the majority of the 2008-09 season with the B-Sens where he recorded one goal, seven assists and amassed 62 penalty minutes in 64 games played. Petruic also appeared in 14 games with the Stockton Thunder of the ECHL where he recorded two goals and two assists.

The Regina, Saskatchewan native was the eighth round pick of the Ottawa Senators (235 overall) in the 2001 National Hockey League entry draft.

The Binghamton Senators travel to Syracuse tonight to take on the Crunch at 7:30 p.m. Fans can listen live on 680 WINR-AM or 1430 WENE-AM beginning 30 minutes before game time for Countdown to Faceoff with Grady Whittenburg, the voice of the B-Sens.
