Binghamton Senators News Release
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators announced today that the B-Sens players will grow mustaches this month as they participate in "Movember".
Movember is an annual charity event during the month of November where men are encouraged to grow a mustache while raising funds and awareness for men's health issues, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.
Throughout the month, the B-Sens will post pictures and updates of the team's progress via Twitter @BSensStache.
The month-long effort culminates as the Binghamton Senators' host the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins on Saturday, Nov. 26. During the game, there will be a special Movember table on the main concourse of the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena where pictures of each B-Sens player and his mustache will be on display.
Fans are encouraged to visit the table to make a donation on behalf of the player whom they feel has grown the best mustache. With each donation of $5 or more, fans will receive an imitation mustache to wear at the game and a raffle ticket to place in the jar that corresponds with the picture of their chosen player.
The B-Sens player whose mustache earns the most donations will draw a winner from his jar. That winner will receive a special meet and greet session with the player and autographed action photo courtesy of Just Sports Photography.
All donations will benefit the UHS Foundation's cancer care fund.
Tickets to the 7:05 p.m. game are $18.50 for side seating, $17.50 for end seating. Fans can purchase tickets at www.ticketmaster.com, by phone at 1-800-745-3000 or in person at the Binghamton Senators' executive office or the Broome County Veterans Memorial Arena box office.
