Mazzilli and Derrick Gibson each went 1-for-4 with an RBI to represent the B-Mets offense. Mazzilli tripled and scored a run. Bradley Zimmer was 3-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and two runs for the RubberDucks.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Robert Gsellman makes his third start of the season and his second start of the current road trip. Gsellman last threw on Friday, lasting 6.2 innings with only five hits and one run against in Binghamton's 7-3 win at Erie. He is making his first career start against the RubberDucks.

AKRON STARTER: RHP Michael Peoples starts for the third time this season and the third time in his career at Double-A. Peoples spent the last three seasons in the Carolina League with Carolina (High-A CLE 13-14) and Lynchburg (High-A CLE). He last appeared on Friday against Bowie and gave up five runs, four earned, on eight hits in six innings of an eventual 8-5 RubberDucks win.

ON THE 40-MAN: Tonight's starter Robert Gsellman was named to the Mets 40-man roster in November of 2015. He is one of two current B-Mets on the New York 40-man, reliever Akeel Morris was added November of 2014.

CONTINUING A TREND: Binghamton has managed only six hits and two runs in the first two games against Akron, totaling a team batting average of .102 (6-59). The B-Mets hit only .203 in 14 games against Akron in 2015, their lowest team batting average against any opponent.

GSELLMAN THE STOPPER?: The B-Mets are 2-0 in games started by Robert Gsellman, who has a 1.46 ERA and has received nine runs of support in his two starts.

KEEP THE BROOMS AWAY: The B-Mets are guaranteed their first series loss of 2016 but will try to avoid their first sweep since 6/24-6/26 of 2015 against Harrisburg.

'YER OUTTA HERE: Niuman Romero was ejected by home plate umpire Richard Riley in the eighth inning of Tuesday's 7-2 loss to Akron for arguing balls and strikes. It was the B-Mets first ejection of the year. Binghamton only had two ejections in 2015, manager Pedro Lopez on June 26 and Josh Rodriguez on July 21.

RAKING RUBBERDUCKS: As a team, Akron is hitting .255 (2nd, EL) with 18 home runs (1st, EL) and has scored 72 runs (T-1st, EL). Jeremy Lucas is batting .414 (2nd, EL), Clint Frazier has six doubles (T-1st, EL) and Lucas, Todd Hankins and Nellie Rodriguez each have three home runs (T-3rd, EL).

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: The B-Mets return to NYSEG Stadium to open a week-long homestand. Binghamton kicks off a four-game series on Thursday night 6:35 P.M. against the Erie SeaWolves. LHP Andrew Barbosa will make his B-Mets debut against Erie's RHP Brennan Smith.
