Yard Goats Win 4th Straight Series

MANCHESTER, NH - The Hartford Yard Goats scored a season-high nine runs in rolling to a 9-2 victory over the New Hampshire Fisher Cats Wednesday. The Colorado Rockies affiliate also pounded out 14 hits. The Yard Goats have won their first four series this season, after taking two out of three games from New Hampshire.

Rookie Rosell Herrera led the Hartford onslaught with his first home run at the AA level. He went 2-for-4 with three RBI. He was one of five Yard Goats batters to collect two hits. David Dahl slugged his league leading sixth home run, a two-run shot in the fourth inning, while Dillon Thomas collected two hits and had three RBI. Pat Valaika and Correlle Prime also had two hits.

German Marquez, a member of the Rockies 40-man roster, picked up his first win, pitching five innings and striking out six. Reliever Devon Burke, just added to the roster, notched his first save, pitching four scoreless innings, while allowing only two hits. Burke hails from Darien, CT.

Hartford will be off on Thursday, before opening a four-game series in Portland against the Red Sox affiliate on Friday night at 6:00. LHP Harrison Musgrave will pitch for the Yard Goats, while the Sea Dogs will counter with RHP Ty Buttrey. The game will be broadcast on News Radio 1410 WPOP.
