LAST TIME OUT: The B-Mets offense exploded for seven runs over the first three innings as Binghamton defeated Richmond, 7-2, Sunday afternoon at NYSEG Stadium. Tyler Pill (4-8) picked up his first win in his past eight starts and struck out six while matching a season-high with eight innings pitched.

BINGHAMTON STARTER: RHP Rainy Lara gets another crack at the Curve after Altoona roughed him up for six runs on ten hits in five innings of a 6-3 loss on Wednesday. He is now 1-1 with a 4.50 ERA against the Curve. Lara has one start at Peoples Natural Gas Field as he earned a win struck out six over seven shutout innings on 6/4.

ALTOONA STARTER: RHP Clay Holmes makes the start for Altoona, making the starting pitching matchup a rematch of Wednesday's 6-3 Curve win in Binghamton. Holmes allowed seven hits but held the B-Mets to one run over five innings and earned the win in that appearance. He is now 2-0 with a 1.64 ERA in two starts against the B-Mets. Holmes has won each of his last five decisions and has won seven of his past eight starts.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE THREE GAMES MAKE: In the three-game series between Binghamton and Altoona from Tuesday-Thursday, the Curve outscored the B-Mets, 20-11, and out-hit them 37-27 during a series sweep. Binghamton bounced back with a three-game sweep of Richmond during which it put up 18 runs and batted .263.

LARA'S LETDOWN: Entering Rainy Lara's previous start on Wednesday against the Curve, he had held opponents to nine hits and a .134 batting average over 20 innings in June. He allowed a season-high ten hits in the loss and saw his June ERA rise from 0.45 to 2.52.

TROUBLE WITH THE CURVE: Altoona batters are hitting a combined .275 against the B-Mets, the second-highest team batting average of any opponent this season. Only Reading (.350 in 3 games) has a higher team average against Binghamton. The B-Mets have been especially tormented by, Reese McGuire (.440:11-25, 5 2Bs, 3B, 6 RBI).

HOT START: Amed Rosario has recorded hits in all-four of his games since joining the B-Mets from St. Lucie (High-A). Rosario has started three games at shortstop and the B-Mets have gone 3-0. He is batting .462 (6-13) with two doubles, two RBI, two runs and a stolen base.

STREAKING: Derrik Gibson has hit in four-straight games, L.J. Mazzilli has hits in his last five and Colton Plaia is on a seven-game hitting streak, a Double-A career-high. Dominic Smith has recorded RBI in each of his last three games.

AAAAAND THEY'RE OFF: The B-Mets put up three runs in the first inning on Sunday, the fourth time they have scored at least three in the first and the second time in their past three games.

NEXT GAME PREVIEW: Game two of the three-game series is set for 7:00 PM on Tuesday. RHP Josh Zeid will oppose Altoona LHP Clay Dickson.
