
Austin Spurs Fall to Salt Lake City Stars 104-98

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Austin Spurs (3-4), presented by SWBC, fell to the Salt Lake City Stars (4-2) by a final score of 104-98 at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park Sunday afternoon.
Dedric Lawson led all Spurs in scoring, posting 23 points (10-13 FG, 3-5 3FG) in 28 minutes of play. San Antonio Spurs assignee Keldon Johnson scored 16 points to go along with 6 rebounds in 29 minutes, while Spurs assignee Chimezie Metu chipped in 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists in 30 minutes. Spurs assignee Luka à  amaniÃâ¡ also posted 9 points in 18 minutes.
As a team, the Spurs shot .667 (14-21) from the field and .500 (3-6) from the three-point line in the first, allowing them to take a 31-22 lead at the end of the quarter. During the second, the Spurs' lead grew to 19 points with two minutes left in the half, which was the largest lead of the game for the Spurs. The Stars answered with a 10-0 run to end the half, bringing the score to 55-46.
In the second half, the Stars shot .556 (20-36) from the field and .529 (9-17) from the three-point line as a team. The Stars proceeded to outscore the Spurs 31-12 in the third quarter, giving them a 77-67 lead going into the fourth. The Spurs chipped away at that lead in the fourth quarter, coming as close as four points with 6:37 left and 2:42 left, but they were unable to overcome the deficit and fell to the Stars 104-98.
For the Stars, William Howard led the team in scoring with 24 points and 8 rebounds in 35 minutes. Two-way player Jarrell Brantley finished with a near triple-double, posting 21 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists in 40 minutes. Two-way player Justin Wright-Foreman posted 17 points and 5 assists in 27 minutes, while Trevon Bluiett also finished with 17 points in 29 minutes.
