The Owen Sound Attack is announcing that they have traded veteran defenseman Kurtis MacDermid to the Erie Otters in exchange for a 2nd Round Draft Pick in 2016, a 2nd Round Draft Pick in 2018, a 2nd Round Draft Pick in 2019 and a Conditional 3rd Round Draft Pick in 2016.

MacDermid, a nearby Sauble Beach native and 7th Round Draft Pick in 2010 suited up in 112 regular season games for the Attack, tallying 26 points and 207 Penalty Minutes. 16 of MacDermid's 26 points have come this year, including 7 points in his last 7 games played. The nineteen year old signed an NHL Entry Level Contract with the Los Angeles Kings in September of 2012.

"Kurtis has made huge strides as a player and developed into one of the leaders on our team.", stated Dale DeGray. "We are sad to see Kurtis go, however; the return of picks has provided us valuable assets moving forward. We wish Kurtis the best of luck with the Erie Otters organization."

Kurtis MacDermid was a member of the Grey-Bruce Highlanders AAA organization before playing for the Owen Sound Grey's and eventually the Owen Sound Attack. MacDermid will join the Otters in Barrie on Thursday before returning to the Bayshore on Friday evening to take on the Attack.

Tickets for Friday are on sale at the Attack Box Office, online at www.attackhockey.com or by calling (519) 371-7452. Game time Friday is 7:30pm.
