Belleville Bulls News Release
PETERBOROUGH, ON - With a bounce back performance in order, the Bulls visit the Peterborough Petes tonight following Wednesday's 6-2 home ice loss to the Kitchener Rangers. It's the third meeting of the season between the Bulls and Petes, with Belleville looking for win number one against their divisional foes from the northwest.
The Bulls will face Hunter Garlent tonight in his Petes debut. Peterborough acquired the former first round pick in 2011 from the Guelph Storm earlier this week in exchange for nineteen year old Guelph native Stephen Pierog and four second round picks. A native of Thorold, Garlent had 8 goals and 31 assists in 37 games this season with the Storm.
A few of the Bulls' recent trade acquisitions have gotten off to successful starts in their new surroundings. In 14 games with the Bulls, Stephen Harper has three goals and eight assists. Defenceman Alex Yuill has three assists and a +4 rating in his first nine games since being acquired from the Barrie Colts. Remi Elie leads the Bulls in scoring this season and has 17 goals and 22 assists in 33 games as a Bull.
The Petes enter tonight's action as winners of three of their last four games. Their latest outing was a 9-0 defeat at the hands of the Kingston Frontenacs last Friday at the Rogers K-Rock Centre. Well rested, the Petes try and get back on the winning track against the Bulls, kicking off a four game homestand in the familiar confines of the Memorial Centre.
The Bulls enter a stretch of five straight games against Eastern Conference opponents after splitting decisions against Windsor and Kitchener. Overaged forward Cameron Brace serves the fourth game of a five game suspension tonight. He'll be eligible to return to the lineup on January 17th in Ottawa. Jake Worrad (upper body) nears a return to the lineup but remains doubtful for tonight's contest.
Game time is 7:05pm as Bulls voice Jack Miller has pre-game coverage beginning at 6:50pm on AM 800 CJBQ. For full coverage of tonight's game, follow along with the Bulls Twitter feed (@OHLBulls).
