Attack Announce Second and Third Round Selections

Owen Sound Attack News Release


The Owen Sound Attack of the Ontario Hockey League is please to announce that with their 2nd round selections (29th and 40th overall) in the 2009 OHL Priority Draft, they have selected Tyler Morgan of the Mississauga Rebels (29th overall) and goaltender Jordan Binnington (40th overall) of the Vaughan Kings. In the 3rd round of the priority selection, the Attack selected defenseman Jack Kuzmyk of the York Simcoe Express.

During the 2008/2009 season, Morgan scored 24 goals and added 24 assists for 48 points, to go along with 49 PIMS. The 6'3', 185lb winger is described as a smooth skating, physical winger.

Binnington spent the 2008/2009 season playing the Vaughan Minor Midget AAA squad and was considered to be the backbone of their team. Although Minor Midget Stats are unavailable for Binnington, he did play one game for the Dixie Beehives of the OPJHL where he stopped 36 shots in a 3-2 loss.

In the third round, the Attack selected defenseman Jack Kuzmyk of the York Simcoe Express. Kuzmyk, a 6'01, 200lb blueliner registered 8 goals, 23 assists and 31 PIMS in 52 games played. He is considered to be a hard nosed, no-nonsense stay at home blueliner.
