
Spitfires Select Windsor Native Austen Brassard with the 20th Pick Overall

(Windsor) Windsor Spitfires Vice-President and General Manager Warren Rychel today announced the selection of Windsor Jr. Spitfires right-winger and Windsor native Austen Brassard with the team's first round pick, 20th overall in today's OHL Priority Selection. Brassard, listed at 6'2" and 185 pounds, scored 55 goals and 66 assists for 121 points with 111 penalty minutes in 69 games with the Jr. Spitfires this season.
"We are very happy to add a character player like Austen to our team. Austen is a player who gets better all the time. He is big, skilled and has an edge to his game. Austen also fits the Spitfire identity and is a huge addition to our organization," commented Warren Rychel.
With their second round pick, the Spitfires selected Steven Trojanvoic, a defenceman from the Burlington Eagles. The team also selected six American born players in today's Priority Selection.
