Athletic Sign Bedoya from NYCFC
July 18, 2019 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Hartford Athletic News Release
Hartford Athletic has completed the signing of New York City FC attacking midfielder Daniel Bedoya after reaching a loan agreement with the MLS club, pending league and federation approval. The 25-year old's loan will last for the remainder of the 2019 USL Championship season.
Bedoya, a native of Medellin, Colombia, started his journey in the New York Red Bulls Academy, becoming a regular in the U-18 and U-23 squads. He eventually signed his first professional contract in 2015, joining the Red Bulls' second team and playing in the USL. After performing well in a closed-door scrimmage as a member of the Long Island Rough Riders, NYCFC elected to sign Bedoya in August of 2018. Bedoya has trained with the first team regularly, and he made his debut in a U.S. Open Cup victory over North Carolina FC. He also has one MLS appearance under his belt, making a late cameo as a substitute on June 29.
Nicholas Firmino and Isaac Angking have also been recalled by the New England Revolution.
