Fury FC Adds Canadian GK to Roster

Ottawa Fury FC News Release

OTTAWA - Ottawa Fury FC has secured the addition of Canadian goalkeeper Jason Beaulieu (Jason Bo-Li-Ew) on loan from Montreal Impact, both clubs announced on Thursday. Beaulieu was slated to join Fury FC earlier this year but underwent knee surgery in January, postponing his arrival in Ottawa.

The 25-year-old, Boisbriand, QC native signed his first professional contract with Montreal this year after spending four seasons with the University of New Mexico earning a Bachelor of Engineering degree. There, he appeared in 69 games, recording 34 wins and 22 shutouts.

Beaulieu, a 6-foot-4 product of the Montreal Impact Academy, had helped the Impact U-21 team reach the league final in 2012, capturing in the process the team's Most Outstanding Player and Defensive Player of the Year titles.

Beaulieu will join the squad immediately and start fighting for a spot on the active roster, as Fury FC welcome Head Coach Popovic's former club, Swope Park Rangers, at TD Place Saturday evening in week 20 action of the USL Championship (KO 7 pm, OttawaFuryFC.com).
