Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - Nashville Soccer Club and Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee have partnered to host a food drive at Nashville SC's next home match on Saturday, July 27 at Nissan Stadium. Fans will have the opportunity to help those in need by dropping off non-perishable food donations in bins stationed around Nissan Stadium at Gates 1, 6, 8 and 9 before the game.
While any canned and non-perishable food items are accepted and appreciated, the organization lists peanut butter, canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit, pasta and cereal as its most needed items.
This event will be the club's second consecutive season supporting Second Harvest Food Bank and its fight against hunger in our community. Last year, Nashville SC fans donated over 250 pounds of food at its match on July 7, 2018. Combined with cash donations, the club's first food drive provided around 1,965 meals for hungry neighbors in Tennessee.
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is one of the largest food distribution centers nationwide, distributing more than 31 million pounds of food to more than 460 partner agencies during the 2017-2018 fiscal year.
