Utica Comets News Release
Vancouver Canucks President & General Manager Michael D. Gillis announced today that the Canucks have re-assigned left wing Darren Archibald to the AHL Utica Comets. Utica Comets Director of Hockey Operations Pat Conacher has also announced that the club has reassigned forward David Pacan (puh-CAN) to the Comets ECHL affiliate, the Kalamazoo Wings.
Archibald, 23, has recorded 21 points (10-11-21) and 65 penalty minutes in 44 games with Utica in 2013-14. The Newmarket, ON, native scored his first NHL goal on March 8 vs. Calgary and has recorded three points (1-2-3) and 30 hits in 16 games overall with the Canucks this season.
The 6'3", 204-pound left winger was originally signed by Vancouver as a free agent on December 13, 2012.
Pacan, 22, appeared in one game with the Comets on his recent call up and has appeared in three games overall with Utica this season. In 54 games with the Kalamazoo Wings, Pacan registered 11 goals and 26 assists for 34 points and 24 penalty minutes. His plus-18 rating was second best on the team.
Originally selected in the sixth round, 177th overall, by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, the 6'3"" 205-pound wing signed an AHL contract with the Utica Comets in July.
