
Anaheim Recalls Rakell and Etem

ANAHEIM, Calif . - The Anaheim Ducks announced Thursday morning that the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled center Rickard Rakell and right wing Emerson Etem to the Norfolk Admirals, Anaheim's primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Rakell, 20, went scoreless in two games during this most recent stint with the Ducks. He has skated in 13 games so far this season for Anaheim, contributing an assist during a seven-game stretch earlier in the campaign. He made his NHL debut on November 4 against the New York Rangers and registered his first career point November 8 versus Buffalo.
Rakell has scored 14 times along with 23 assists for 37 total points in 46 games for the Admirals this season. He is third on the team in assists and carries a plus-7 rating. Rakell is also second on Norfolk in power play goals with eight. The 6-1, 192-pound center logged an assist in five preseason games for the Ducks. Last season, Rakell went scoreless in four regular season appearances with the Ducks.
The Sollentuna, Sweden native is a 2011 first-round draft selection (30th overall) of Anaheim. He totaled a balanced 149 points (68g, 81a) in three seasons with the Plymouth Whalers (OHL) from 2010-13.
Etem, 21, returns to Anaheim having registered 11 points (7g, 4a) with four penalty minutes and a +3 rating in 28 games played with the Ducks this season. Etem recorded a goal and a +1 rating in two games played with the Ducks during his recent February 5 recall. In addition, the 6-1, 206-pound forward has 42 points (16g, 26a) and a plus-11 rating in 39 contests played with the Admirals this season.
The twenty-ninth overall pick in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft made his NHL debut with the Ducks in 2012-13, collecting 10 points (3g, 7a) with nine penalty minutes in 38 contests. The Long Beach, California native has appeared in 66 career contests with the Ducks, totaling 21 points ( 10g, 11a) with 13 PIM and a plus-10 rating. Etem posted 16 points (13g, 3a) in 45 games with Norfolk last season.
Norfolk hosts East-Division leading Binghamton tomorrow in the first half of a crucial two-game weekend set with the Senators.
