
Phantoms Sign Kyle Bushee to PTO

The Adirondack Phantoms have announced they have signed defenseman Kyle Bushee to a Professional Tryout Contract (PTO). The ECHL veteran of seven seasons is in his second season with the Elmira (NY) Jackals. Bushee will wear #21 with the Phantoms.
Kyle Bushee, 28, is a product of Canisius College who is joining the roster of his eighth different AHL team. He just completed a quick stint with Rochester in which he played no games and earlier this season played a couple games with the Utica Comets. Bushee has a career total of 19 games in the AHL from 2010-11 to 2013-14 seeing game-action with Utica, Binghamton, Norfolk, St. John's, Manitoba and Portland. He has one goal in his AHL career (with St. John's in 2011-12) and two assists as well as 12 penalty minutes.
Bushee has been a steady presence in the ECHL with the Elmira Jackals, Wheeling Nailers, Johnstown Chiefs and Cincinnati Cyclones with a career total of 392 games in the league scoring 36 goals and 111 assists for 147 points. This season is Bushee's second year with Elmira where he has played in 56 games scoring 6-18-24. Last year, he set a career-highs with nine goals and 32 points with Elmira. For the three seasons before that, Kyle Bushee was one of the most popular players on the Wheeling Nailers patrolling the blueline there from 2009-10 through 2011-12 playing a total of 183 games for the West Virginia based team.
The Phantoms return to action Friday night at the Utica Comets and then will play at home on Saturday and Sunday against the Hartford Wolf Pack and Syracuse Crunch. Saturday night is Firefighters Appreciation Day featuring a Charity Game at 1:30 between the MacBosston Local group of firefighters against the FDNY. The Phantoms will tangle with the Wolf Pack after that at 7:00.
